2024-25 Order of the Rose
Georgia Tempesco was presented the esteemed level of honor, The Order of the Rose. It is awarded to the Columbiette that has best portrayed during the past year the virtues and characteristics of our three patron saints, Blessed Virgin Mary, St. Therese of Lisieux, and Joan of Arc. The Columbiette is chosen by popular vote from our participating members.
Like the Blessed Virgin Mary, Georgia regularly listens to the Word of God and reflects on it in her heart and shares it with others. She is very knowledgeable in the faith and is known for making everyone feel welcome and treating them with compassion. She remembers the details about her fellow parishioners and lets them know she is praying for them.
Like St. Therese, the Little Flower, Georgia is always serving others. She serves her beautiful family
as a wife, mother, and grandmother. She provided humble service for the Casserole Sale, the 10-year
Columbiette Anniversary Gala, and the Christmas Party. She helps decorate for most occasions. As
a matter of fact, she joins or assists with nearly every committee we have.
Like Joan of Arc, Georgia gives of her time and talent to defend righteous causes. She has always
been involved with Right to Life activities and in supporting women to keep their babies. She took
the initiative to start a food pantry for Richland County Law Enforcement, which is certainly a
righteous cause. She solved our storage problem by spearheading the process to obtain the storage
cabinets in the Large Classroom. Finally, as a Deacon’s wife, she is very involved in ministering to
our Parish and community in general.
Georgia is a dedicated Catholic woman of great commitment who reflects her love of the Lord to everyone. We admire her unselfish commitment to helping others – and she inspires us to do the same.
